Restoration and repair services are offered through a network of recognized luthiers in Amsterdam and across Europe. This collaborative approach ensures that instruments and bows are entrusted to craftsmen with specialized expertise, aligned with the traditions and technical standards of fine instrument making.
Each project is evaluated individually, taking into account the instrument’s condition, historical context and musical requirements. By working with established ateliers and independent makers, Heartwood Violins ensures that restoration and repair work is carried out with respect for material integrity and traditional methods.
Heartwood Violins acts as an intermediary in the coordination of restoration and repair projects, guiding the process from initial assessment to completion. Recommendations are formulated with attention to technical necessity, historical responsibility and long-term preservation.
Due to the individual nature of fine instruments, timelines, methods and outcomes are determined in consultation with the appointed luthier. All interventions are approached with discretion and restraint, recognising the unique character and value of each instrument.
